East meet West
I'm going to try and outline what I feel is the best route to success and finding a potential Russian bride. It's not easy, it's not cheap and it can't be done in a couple of weeks! And it will take a lot of hard work on your part too. Still with me? The first thing you need to do is search for suitable women. Be REALISTIC. The biggest mistake men make is writing to women who are too young. Most websites will tell you age is not a problem and that women from Russia are willing to be young brides marrying older men. This is just not true. These websites just want to keep address sales as high as possible and to get as many letters coming to their women as possible. I do not recommend writing to a woman more than 15 years younger than yourself. 8 to 10 years is good. My fiancee was 27, and I was 35 at the time we decided to marry. She received many letters from men 40 and over. Her father was not much older than some of the men writing to her. She had no interest in writing to men who were old enough to be her father. And this goes for many Russian women too. If you are truly seeking Russian brides to marry be realistic and success is well within your grasp!
Ok, you've searched an age group and have come up with a lot of possibilites. Now before you start writing to dozens of women across all 4 corners of Russia you need to think about travelling to meet women. You do want to meet some women one day? Well then you are going to have to travel eventually. I see so many men writing to women for example in Odessa Ukraine, Volzhsky in Russia and Minsk in Belarus and falling in love with each woman. Then comes the time to travel. And guys expect to see each of these possible Russian brides in a week! Russia and the Former Soviet Union (FSU) is a big place. You just can't hop around the FSU visiting various cities every couple of days. Moscow to Volzhsky takes 18 hours by train, nearly 2 hours by plane. And apparently they are cities close to each other. If you want to travel into other countries you need additional visa's extra days travelling and so on. So my 2nd point is to take time to look at a map. Take a look at the women you like from your search results and see where their cities are located. Try and select women in close proximity. Here some examples of cities close to each other where we have agents and ladies from. All though these cities are considered close to each other most will take from half a day to a day to travel between by train.
RUSSIA:
Saratov and Samara
Saratov and Volzhsky
Samara and Kazan
BELARUS:
Minsk and Gomel
UKRAINE:
Sevastopol and Simferepol
Odessa and Nikolaev
Dnepropetrovsk and Poltava
Poltava and Sumy
So you should have now found some suitable women living in the same area who meet the criteria of the perfect Russian bride. Now is the time to start composing your letter.
An opening letter should be only about 1 page long. Give a brief introduction about yourself, your hobbies and interests. Write some information about where you live. By all means mention your employment. But do not go into a detailed account of your work. Mention your education. Do not brag about how much you earn or how many cars you have. This will only get responses from the wrong type of woman. The man who says he has a new BMW is the man who finds out he married a woman who left him for a guy with a Porsche! So you are writing to many women. Do not send out a standard letter. Read their bio information carefully and ask them questions relating to this information. Ask about her family and where she lives.
Some women get letters and find it hard to start a reply. This way the woman can start writing to you by replying to some of the questions you asked. Above all show some interest in them. Make them feel special. Mention that you liked her picture. You might say something like, " after seeing your picture and information I felt I had to write. You have a smile that is full of warmth and your beautiful eyes have left such an impression in my mind.."
I see many letters being sent online of a very poor standard, without photo's and not agreeing to cover the costs of the ladies reply. And then I get asked why the ladies don't reply. If you write a letter of a few words like this: "Hi, just seen your photo's, you look very sexy, I'd like to know you, email me". Don't expect a reply! Seriously I see this all the time. If a woman receives 10 letters and 5 are interesting and intelligent and come with photo's and 5 don't, guess which letters will not get answered? Writing letters is not easy, I agree but with a little effort and following my guidelines below you will be more successful!
The best way to write letters and to increase your chances of being answered is to use a mail forwarding service. Sending letters via normal postal methods takes ages and is very risky. A lot of mail into Russia is opened, especially foreign mail. This is not a scare tactic. It is a fact. If you send a letter by post, send 3 copies and keep your fingers crossed! Take a moment to look at the mail boxes in the stairwell for the apartment blocks I stayed in recently click here. None have locks on and most hang off the walls. Kids hanging around stairwells can't resist opening letters! Many women in Russia and Ukraine have their mail directed to a PO box number which is a private box in the local post office which is more reliable but not convenient for the women.
Another point to make is planning to visit within 6 months of your first letter. Tell her you would like to visit her. Ask her what would be a good time for your visit? Very few women continue corresponding if they think the man is not going to visit her. Very few men do visit. The women are not looking for penpals! They are looking at finding a man to marry. It's every Russian woman's dream to be a bride some day! Wait a couple of weeks and if you have not received a reply write again and say that you were really hoping to hear from her and you are surprised she has not written back. This again will show you are serious and not a time waster. As I said before a lot of mail does not reach its intended destination. If you still do not receive a reply move on. There is plenty of fish in the sea!
I am amazed how many men do not
send photo's. I cannot stress the
importance of sending a photo. Would
you pick a woman to write to without
seeing her picture? Women are no
different. If you do not send a
photo your chances of receiving a
reply diminish rapidly. As above do
not send photo's of you and your
car. You drunk on holiday with your
friends. Send one with you in a
suit, one casual. Make sure one is a
close up. And SMILE in it!
Please don't write to me if you
don't get a reply and haven't sent a
photo.
Summary
1 First letter about 1 page long
2 Ask questions, show interest in
her
3 Send a couple of good photo's
4 Use mail forwarding service
5 Have the letter translated
6 VISIT!
Once your correspondence has started I recommend you take a long hard look at your diary and plan to meet the women within 6 months of the first letter. In my experience Russian women will not continue writing for months on end with no end result. All Russian brides have heard the same lines, same promises and same excuses many, many times before they got married. After 6 months letters usually take the form of 'how's the weather' and the women will move on to the latest guy to write to her. They have joined our agency to get married and find a husband..... not a penpal!
Travelling in Russia is really nowhere near as frightening as it might seem to you now! I've been 4 times recently. More and more foreigners are travelling to Russia and gone are the days where the locals find you a novelty. Many Russians you will meet will have met someone from your country recently and Russians tend to be a friendly race of people. All our agents can meet you on arrival. We can arrange tours to meet the women you are writing to. Many of our clients return soon after their first trip. If you would like more details on our tours to Russia please contact me here: 'Email me'
